If you're struggling through these last grey days of winter try Sig's super-healthy smoothie to kick-start your day

Serves 1
Time: 5 minutes
Cost: about £1.25-£1.50

handful frozen raspberries (or use fresh when in season)
200ml plain bio yogurt/soy yogurt
2-3 tbsp oats
1 banana
1-2 tsp grated ginger (depends how fiery you like your smoothie)
juice of 2 oranges
1 tsp peanut butter

Method:
no method, just blitz together and drink!

VARIATIONS

* instead of raspberries, try other berries such as blueberries or blackberries. Other fruit such as mangoes and peaches in summertime are also great. Passionfruit always a winner, kiwi most definitely not (goes a horrible sludgy colour when mixed with orange juice!)

* if you're not a fan of peanut butter, try other nut butter such as almond, cashew, brazil or macademia.

* instead of ginger, play around with other spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg or even chilli!  Perhaps a bit too fiery for the morning, but if you like Bloody Marys then why not?

* juices such as apple, pomegranate, blueberry and cranberry also go really well in this smoothie. If you like your smoothie quite tart, as I do, add the juice of half a lemon. Works really well with the ginger :-)
